Like all of our models, the Excel has a totally non-rigid Flex Core structure, therefore, it allows your horse complete freedom of movement. The restriction and pain associated with having a rigid tree on the back of a bending horse, is gone! The Excel is for all riders who enjoy an English type saddle, but most especially for those who are specializing in dressage. Its elevated pommel and excellent balance encourages the horse to lift and lighten while offering wonderful support to the rider. The Excel enables the rider to establish and maintain a classical dressage position with ease and comfort. To quote another FEI trainer/competitor... “This is a magical saddle for both horse and rider.” The Excel is made of Black English bridle leather and comes complete with front D rings, Knee Rolls, Rear Thigh Blocks, and a Saddle Cover. What a fantastic way to kick start the New Year by riding in my new saddle - WOW ! Straight away my horse strode off with purpose ready to go. Free moving shoulders & could really feel his whole body move. I've never felt so much in tune with my horse as now & get so much from having to do so little. So far I have shown it to a few people & love the shocked expression when they see that it is treeless - unlike what they are used to.. I love my Excel! I brought my Amigo with me up to Canada to test-ride Pepper, my Rheinlander-cross Gelding, and he’s been wearing an Ansür every since. 17 H happy horse- or 1500# monster! At one clinic ( I knew I needed help!) he refused to go, he backed into walls, and he broke a $400 mirror. This was in his custom made, custom fitted saddles. |

This horse had historically overbent, curled behind the contact like he gave up on me. And therefore not forward. I know many times he was stuck between a rock and a hard place- me urging him to get more "in front of me" and him restricted by the wood and spring-steel parts of solid saddles. |

I don't push or squeeze a horse into relaxation: they offer it when they are comfortable. |

The horse feels like One Piece- not several that you manage to tape all together. Fix this, fix that, oh this again. I think the treeless lets it all flow freely! I added pics on my flickr of a 3yo Friesian, she has a conformation opposite of the 17H Wb. She is scooped /swayed and slight downhill. He is up 2" and broad/flat. ~Marcy Armstrong, Canada |
