Hannah and Sail'em

My daughter Hannah bought the first Ansür classic last fall. Sail'em, the Shire cross, made the complete change from "flaky" to "forward".

We decided my next daughter need one for her fat, no withered, Haflinger pony. Then of course I needed one, for myself because my daughters occupied the other 2.

I really have to give all the credit to my daughter Hannah, because if it wasn't for her persistence in purchasing the original Ansür, Sail'em would still be hurting today and God only knows where he may have ended up....makes you wonder sometimes about these "problem" horses.

So now Hannah is convinced training is her calling not only trained Sail'em to be the awesome jumper he is, but a hunter pony, a 2 year old Georgian grande, and a 3-year old pinto Saddlebred mare

Hannah is only 16....... I am proud of her and her accomplishments thus far and I think she will reach her goal someday of being a true trainer..... One who listens to horses.....not just one who "breaks" them. The Ansür is her first rule for saddle starting our horses. They will never know pinching or pressure sores.

"The Hi, I'm Mary from Richmond, Virginia, an avid endurance rider and foxhunter. Charlotte had given me & my Arab/QH cross Shiloh several much needed dressage lessons and let me borrow her Ansür when it became apparent my Sharon Saare "F" wide tree was interfering with Shiloh's range of shoulder movement.

WOW - I didn't know whether to laugh or cry as I felt the wonderful difference in how my horse coasted around the ring...ears forward, w/light springy strides and no resistance even when picking up his problematic right lead.

To summarize: the Ansür was worth every penny because the quality workmanship means it will last forever and I now need only 1 saddle instead of 2 -- it's elegant enough for foxhunting, light and secure enough for demanding trail riding -- and the very best saddle for working on those fundamentals (dressage/ring work).

The photo is from the Summer Breeze endurance ride in Salt Lick, Kentucky went GREAT except it was very hot. Shiloh came in 8th place in the 50 (5 hrs and 7 minutes), only about 15 minutes behind the winning time. The Ansur did fantastic and having less weight to carry (it weighs almost 10 pounds less than my treed saddle) helped my horse out a lot. This photo is at 15 miles out, about 7am."

"A horse I have referred to as 'Zippy the Pinhead' who was for no physical reason resistive in right lead will now take it with no problem in the Ansür! “

"Oh boy, where do I start? I have had my Ansür for only about a week now, and I cannot believe the difference it has made in both my horse and me. Especially at the canter. In the past, I always weighted my left leg to heavily and so my mare found it hard to canter for long, but now in my Ansür, I am more conscience of this problem, and I am able to easily counter-act it before we lose our balance...what a wonderful feeling!

I am quite confident in saying I will never have another traditional saddle again. Thanks!!"

"I have been riding in the Ansür saddle since its conception, prototypes and all! I've ridden my four horses in it, and have observed many others. All are more relaxed, freer in their movement and generally happier horses! And there's nothing like it for being able to feel your horse's back. I tried a little experiment - put my old conventional tree saddle on my thoroughbred gelding. He pinned his ears, swished his tail, didn't want to canter (his favorite gait!). Switched back to the Ansür and had my horse back! If he could write, he'd send you his own testimonial!"

" This mare Moonlight N Roses ++++// is an over achiever who has been my friend, love of my life (don't tell hubby) and an outstanding show horse for me since I bought her as a four year old.

Mare loved it. Stopped pawing the minute I girthed it up and then looked around at it trying to figure out what I had put on her. Then she took a big sigh and started to chew and lick. She was fairly relaxed for the hot mare she is when we rode in the saddle for the first time, by the time we finished the session she was round and using her back and NOT PULLING me out of the saddle. I am hoping this is the way to making her happy.”

. I am so happy with my new saddle and my horses are so relieved to have it.

The demo saddle I tried was super but it didn' t have the support system I ordered. This system is wonderful.

Anyway, thank you for my beautiful new saddle and the peace of mind it gives me about my horses. They are all Arabs and have big shoulders, very hard to fit and I spent a lot of time riding bareback rather than use a treed saddle.

This is my little guy, Jameel, 13.3 hh. Notice how relaxed he is, his back is up and he is a happy camper traveling on very light contact. Life can't get much better than this. Thanks again."

"The saddle I purchased has been wonderful. The first time I rode my 5 year old Arabian in it, he stretched his neck and rounded his back from the second I got on him. He has never done this before. Even more impressive is the fact that he had not been ridden in at least two months prior to the first ride in the Ansür. He was so relaxed that I let other people ride him and try out the saddle. He remained relaxed and confident even though some of his new riders were tense."

"Forward Stride Institute, a therapeutic riding barn for people with disabilities, started collecting Ansür Classic saddles beginning with the very first petite off of the line.

Ansür Saddle created the (youth size) just for us as a saddle to use with our 5 and 6 year olds and then they donated it to our organization. What a great group of people!

Our equine chiropractor was very skeptical, at first, because the saddle lies on the horse's spine. After two years of use, however, he is a believer. Every day, our horses must accept riders who lean, twist, bump and grind as a consequence of their disabilities. Needless to say, this was putting a lot of strain on our horses' backs in the old style saddles we had. The chiropractor was coming out at least once every three months to fix all ten of our horses and sometimes more often to fix individuals. Now, we rarely need more than a couple to be seen every three months and the ones he does see are usually 'out' because of old injuries, not saddle problems. Wow! We have probably saved thousands of dollars in the past two years in chiropractic alone.

We have also found the Ansürs to be great for our riders. It allows them to find a natural balance, feel warmth emanating from the horse and the motion of the horse similarly to being in a surcingle and pad, with the advantage of being more secure.

Last, but not least, let's talk about convenience. I cannot think of a better saddle for any riding school situation. Our Ansürs have been on everything from an 11 hand Shetland pony to a 16.1 hand, 1350 lb. Percheron. We have horses with narrow backs, very broad backs, withers and no withers, uphill and down conformation. The only things we must be careful of are saddle sizes and correct padding. It is so freeing to be able to match the saddle size to the rider and know it will fit the horse perfectly every time. We service 60+ riders per week on 10-12 horses. (80% of the rides are in an Ansür.) Normally this would require at least twenty treed saddles, but we do it with 10. (You add up the savings.) Now I only wish all ten were Ansürs!"

I purchased your Ansür saddle at the Equine Affaire in MA last fall. It was truly a leap of faith to buy a saddle untried but it made much sense to me. I have a wonderful mare and I knew she wasn't comfortable with every new saddle I purchased for her. This is my fourth and last.

She tells me every time I ride that it is comfortable. For the first time I can feel her rounding her back and becoming tons lighter. I can't begin to tell you what a joy it is to ride her, especially because she is 25 years old and I want to be kind to her.

Thank you Carole Weidner... for being so sincere. I never make such large purchases in an hour's time. And, of course, my Zelda thanks you the most!! – Joan P..

"I purchased my Ansür saddle four months ago after my young Rhinelander refused to move another step in his old treed saddle. I could not believe the difference it made. I went from the horse who refused to move a step, to the horse that moves so huge I can barely sit his trot anymore! I believe this saddle is the best thing that has ever happened to a horse, and I now ride all the horses I train in it. It's fantastic!" – Meg F.
