Dorsal Supplement Pad
The Dorsal Supplement pad (or D.S.) is designed to assist horses with muscle wastage along the top line. Use this pad if your horse lacks muscle tone or if the back bone is prominent. With regular use of the Ansür over several months your horse's back will fill in naturally. The D.S. pad has a washable cover (it is actually in 2 halves inside a durable cotton sleeve). It is placed directly behind the shoulder. Price: $81.00

Using One Half of DS Pad Many horses are more developed on one side of the spine than the other. You may use one half of a DS Pad to level the horse’s back prior to adding your saddle. Remove the foam insert from the side of the DS Pad that corresponds to the horse’s low side. Place it on top of the low side of your saddle pad. This should level the surface underneath your saddle.
Dorsal Supplement Front Wedge Pad

Pad is identical to the Dorsal Supplement Pad except that it is thicker in front --approximately 1.5". Pad is excellent for horses with tall, narrow withers. Price: $94.00
Shoulder Shims (pair)
A soft shim specially designed by Ansür Saddlery to assist horses with hollowness behind the top of the shoulder or to fill on either side of the wither for tall-withered horses. A single shim placement You can use only one shim on one side of the horse if the horse is uneven in his muscles.

I bought my Ansür especially for Gus, who had had three different saddles, and who hated all of them. With the Ansür, his shoulder was more free, and he willingly went forward to the bit. Not only that, but I could feel his back muscles, and thus I was sure he could feel my aids more easily, and in fact I could aid more lightly - a nudge instead of a push.

I use my Ansür on all of my horses, and I have quite a variety. It fits them all. I have used this saddle for two years, and have never had a sore back on any of my horses. I love the way it makes me sit, I love the communication I have with my horses through it, and I love the way their necks are developing, nice and long and well-developed on the top, since they don't have to squish their necks back to protect their hurting backs.

I will never willingly ride any other saddle, and I will never put another treed dressage saddle on my horses again.
